MUSEO DEL SAXOFONO IN FIUMICINO, ITALY

.

The Saxophone Museum in Fiumicino, recognized and accredited in the OMR of Lazio, is the only one in the international panorama dedicated to this instrument and hosts the largest collection of saxophones in the world.
The museum houses precious and rare musical instruments: from the tiny 32cm soprillo to the gigantic 2m double bass, from the Grafton Plastic to the instruments of the inventor Adolphe Sax, from the legendary Conn O-Sax to Rudy Wiedoeft's SelmerCMelody, from the Jazzophone, a trumpet-sax with double bell, to the grandiose Conn Artist De Luxe, from the slide saxes to the Bottali saxorusophones, from the mammoth J'ElleStainer sub-contrabass, the largest sax in the world, to the instruments that belonged to great artists such as Sonny Rollins, Tex Beneke, Benny Goodman, Ralph James, RossGorman, Gil Ventura, Tom Scott...An exhibition of amazing instruments to unravel the countless metamorphoses of the saxophone and a direct encounter with the great masterpieces of the Conn, Selmer, King, Buescher, Martin, Buffet Crampon, Rampone factories, Borgani, Couesnon, following a union between art and craftsmanship, creativity and tradition that comes from the workshop of the inventor Adolphe Sax to the present day.

I would like to thank Professor and Saxophonist Attilio Berni for his cooperation and for letting me share my vision for Music with the Museum.
